• Category – D/ Enhancing Communities
• Region - Tyne and Wear
• Project title – Provision of Play Facilities in Crawcrook Park
• Applicant - Streetlights Detached Youth Project
• Amount offered - £40,974
• Date of Board approval – June 2007

Crawcrook Park is home to Tyneside’s Streetlights Detached Youth Project, a bowling green, a football/basketball court and some rather dated play facilities. With an ever-expanding population of young families moving to the village it is in desperate need of improved play facilities. Work on improving the park started at the end of 2007 and it will be completed by spring 2008.

A working group was set up to specifically look at improving the facilities and raising the funds to do so. The SITA Trust funding will cover the creation of a dedicated and safe toddlers play area.
