Contributing Third Party payment (CTP)
SITA Trust receives all of its funding from waste management company SITA UK through a scheme called the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF).
Under this scheme SITA UK can contribute some of the landfill tax it collects to the Trust, and reclaim most (but not all) of this contribution as a tax credit. We also have to pay the scheme regulator a fee and incur other minor costs.
To make up the shortfall, SITA UK requires that 11% of the money provided is recovered from third parties. We call this element the Contributing Third Party (CTP) payment and we ask recipients of funds to provide it on a project by project basis.
LCF money cannot be used to provide the CTP so it must be raised from other sources. The CTP is paid to SITA UK and not SITA Trust.
