SITA Trust launched its Enriching Nature programme back in September 2005 to encourage conservation and environment projects to apply for funding through the Landfill Communities Fund. The Trust has always supported wildlife and nature projects but the Enriching Nature programme gave the Trust a dedicated scheme for those organisations that work so hard to maintain and preserve the country’s eclectic and beautiful natural world.
Two years on and the figures speak for themselves: in year one 80 projects were funded across the country with just under £3.8 million. And in year two the Trust has managed to do even more; funding 88 projects with over £4.1 million.
Many of the UK's major conservation organisations have benefited from the Enriching Nature programme and some of them have kindly told us just how important this funding is to their work. Follow the links to read more.....
