Changes in Funding Policy

Revised guidance relating to applications for consideration at Trust Board meetings as of June 2008

At the January 2008 Board meeting a number of changes to the Trust's funding policies were agreed.

Large Grants Scheme

  • Those applications that can demonstrate successful efforts to raise contributory funds in support of the project (over and above the CTP) will be considered favourably, although those that don't will still be considered.
  • If a Large Grant Scheme application is for part funding of a bigger project, we will only accept an application if the bigger project has a gross value of £250,000 or less

Multiple applications

Applicants can only apply once for funds for the same site or project, through one of the main SITA Trust funding programmes, in any three year period. For example; if a project has applied successfully for funding under the Enriching Nature programme, a second application for funding at the same site or for the same project under the Enriching Nature OR Enhancing Communities programme will be ineligible (please note that GreenPrints Events are an exception to this rule)

Revised guidance relating to applications for consideration at Trust Board meetings commencing in 2008.

The following amendments to SITA Trust’s Enriching Nature funding policies should be noted:

SITA Trust requires that the vast majority of its funding is used in the physical, on-site delivery of a project rather than for off-site elements such as general management and overhead costs (including display/interpretation boards). SITA Trust will consider the inclusion of such costs up to level of around 10%, however, the applicant must provide a full breakdown of those costs and clearly demonstrate how they are directly attributable to the physical delivery of the project. At the initial assessment stage SITA Trust will confirm eligibility of all elements of the budget with the applicant. The inclusion of items such as “project management” or “overhead” costs expressed as a general figure or percentage, will not be accepted.

Guidance notes, budgets, and work plan documentation are available on the Trust’s website, or from the Trust’s offices.

Please also note that for all projects approved from 1 January 2008 onwards the CTP rate is 11%
