Project Updates: Oldest to latest | Latest to oldest

10/05/2010 11:31: Ponds Finished!

Pond work at Eighton Banks is now complete, with one pond and sluice restored and another created.  The latter has also been fenced to prevent access by horses.  Planting of water vole food plants and some ditch clearance work has also been carried out to increase the amount of suitable water vole habitat in this area.

23/02/2010 16:06: Foxes Pond

Foxes Pond near Eighton Banks in Gateshead is in need of some restoration.  An ineffective sluice and gradual silting up had resulted in the pond becoming much smaller and shallower.  Work started yesterday (22nd February) to restore this pond to its former glory, with the aim of encouraging water voles to set up home here.  Pictures to follow soon!
