Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Eden Rivers Trust were offered a grant of over £59,000 from SITA Trust to manage Water Vole habitat and reintroduce Water Voles

Projects Updates:

11/03/2010 16:37: Water Vole Release March 2010

A large group began to form in the car park of the Stanford Arms as volunteers joined officers of Eden Rivers Trust and Cumbria Wildlife Trust to release captive bred juvenile Water Voles into their new habitat.

This is the culmination of a project to reintroduce water voles into suitable habitat led by a partnership between Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Eden Rivers Trust.

Take a look through the photo story above to see exactly what happened on the release.
