Thursday 03 May 2012

In 2011 alone the Trust committed over £9.2 million to such disparate projects as saving Wilton’s the world’s oldest surviving Grand Music Hall (East London) from the Heritage at Risk register to providing an improvement grant that led to the re-opening of a community hall in Greenside, Tyne and Wear. Between these two projects come numerous vital improvements to community facilities including roof repairs, central heating installation or replacement, play space creation and enabling volunteers to regenerate their leisure facilities.

Jools Granville of SITA Trust said ‘SITA Trust offers grants to improve community leisure amenities and to make improvements to UK biodiversity. We’re delighted to be able to accept applications from not- for- profit organisations wishing to regenerate or update community leisure facilities within three miles of SITA UK’s depots. To see if your facility falls within one of our funding zones just add the site postcode to our special postcode checker on our website.’

Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Devon, Dorset, Essex, Greater London,  Hampshire, Kent, Leicestershire, South Gloucestershire, South Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Sussex, Swansea, Tyne and Wear, Warwickshire, Wiltshire, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, Wrexham.

These join 90 other funding zones surrounding all of SITA UK’s processing facilities from Inverness to Kent. To see if an amenitiy  falls into one of SITA Trust’s funding zones just add the site postcode to the postcode checker.
