Thursday 21 April 2011

The Trust is responding to a challenge set at this years budget to accelerate circulation of grants into the economy over the next twelve months. Alongside the increase to the amount of money to its 2011 Enriching Nature programme it is also raising the level of support available to community improvement projects from £50,000 per project to £60,000. The Trust’s ‘Fast Track Fund’ that offers speedy support to communities in need has also had its maximum grant increased from £10,000 to £20,000.

This ethical funder that provides grants through the Landfill Communities Fund has already supported more than 2800 projects to enhance the natural and built environment – delivering over £79 million into the UK economy since its inception.

Marek Gordon Chairman and CEO of SITA Trust said ‘The capital funding we provide for projects that improve our natural, built and social environment provides jobs and volunteering opportunities across the UK. SITA Trust is delighted to respond to the challenge set by the Chancellor and to continue doing our bit to help boost the economy.’
