Tuesday 06 April 2010

SITA Trust has launched a new fund to support volunteering opportunities for young people.

The Young Person’s Volunteering Fund has been created to assist young people aged 14-25 to volunteer their time to create or enhance facilities that can be enjoyed by the wider community.

Applicants can apply for up to £10,000 for each project undertaken.

Marek Gordon, Chairman of SITA Trust said, ‘This new and exciting fund will build upon the success of the £1million investment in youth volunteering by SITA Trust over the past three years and offers support for a massive range of potential volunteering ideas. The fund has been designed in consultation with Youth Action Network, a national charity whose vision is for all young people to have the opportunity to participate in youth action volunteering and develop their own solutions to community needs.’

SITA Trust can support projects in England and Wales. Project sites must be within 10 miles of a landfill site (owned by any company).

Application guides and online forms are available at www.sitatrust.org.uk/volunteering
