Download report on the economic benefits of biodiversity funding in the North West

Wednesday 02 December 2009

SITA Trust’s launch of its Enriching Nature funding programme in 2005 coincided with the development of Natural Economy North West – a partnership between Natural England and the North West Development Agency. An organisation with a remit to ‘develop the economic benefit of the North West’s natural environment’ and the fit between this organisation and our own made complete sense.

Although our programme focussed on making significant contribution to the delivery of the government’s priority biodiversity targets for habitats and species we have always recognised that our funding created wider benefits.

A report featuring case studies of projects funded in the North West by SITA Trust that outlines some of the wider economic benefits was launched at the UK Biodiversity Partnership Conference 2009 at York University and  is available here
