Wasted Science

One of SITA Trust’s final major investments in waste was to fund a network of education exhibitions at Science Centres across England. The £325k awarded to each science centre enabled them to explore the waste issue, going beyond the recycling message and looking at other ways to tackle the problem.

Under the banner, Wasted Science? the exhibitions are at the following centres:
· ThinkTank in Birmingham
· Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester
· Centre for Life in Newcastle
· Science Museum in London
· At-Bristol

Education programmes are being run at each centre with main, long term exhibitions at the Museum of Science and Industry, the Centre for Life and ThinkTank.

An exhibition and education programme is also being run at At-Bristol – a science and education centre in the city. This exhibition did move from its original location in WildWalk to Explore! in 2007 but it continues to be a popular attraction.

Between March and September 2006, the London Science Museum hosted the popular 'Dead Ringers' exhibition and in May 2007 opened their new ‘Plasticity’ exhibition. The Science museum has also run an extensive education programme for both children and adults including museum sleepovers and a popular series of debates at its Dana centre.
